In a summer storm the wind is blowing with a velocity of 8m/s north. Suddenly in 3 seconds, the winds velocity is 23m/s north. What is the winds acceleration?

    Initial velocity = 8 m/s

    Final velocity = 23 m/s

    Time for the velocity change = 3 s

    By definition, the average acceleration is

    (23 - 8) / 3 = 5 m/s²

    Answer: 5 m/s²
