A ball is dropped from the top of a cliff 651 m high. How long does it take the ball to hit the ground at the bottom of the cliff, in seconds?

    h = 1/2 gt^2

    h = height

    g = acceleration due to gravity

    t = time

    651 = 1/2 x 10 x t^2

    651 = 5 x t^2

    t^2 = 651 / 5

    t^2 = 130.2

    t = square root of 130.2

    t = 11.41 seconds
