A process in which transfer of heat is equal to zero is defined as an adiabatic process. And, according to the first law of thermodynamics any change in the internal energy is actually in the form of work done.

This means that change in internal energy will be as follows.

Change in internal energy = - work one by the gas

Also, in an adiabatic process there will occur change in internal energy of the system.

Therefore, we can conclude that true statements for an adiabatic process are as follows.

During an adiabatic process, the internal energy of the system changes. During an adiabatic process, there is no heat transfer into or out of the system.
