    Q = 9218 J

    Explanation:

    Given that

    Initial temperature = 20° C

    The final temperature = 42°C

    Change in the temperature,ΔT = 42 - 20 = 22°C

    m = 100 g

    Specific heat, Cp = 4.190 J/gK

    The energy required given as

    Q = m Cp ΔT

    Now by putting the values in the above equation

    Q = 100 x 4.19 x 22

    Q = 9218 J

    Therefore the energy required is 9218 J.
