    Newton's laws of motion

    Explanation:

    Newton's laws of motion are applied here.

    Second Law

    The force being exterted on an object is the product of its acceleration and mass

    F = ma

    Here, both person have different masses and none of them can defeat each other. So, this means both people are applying the same force. Hence, the acceleration is higher for the lighter person.

    First Law

    An object stays in the same state (rest or motion) unless some external force is applied.

    Here, as the forces are same the system is conserved some external force is required to push the hand towards one direction.

    Third law

    When a force is applied to an object, the object will have a reaction which is equal and opposite in nature.

    Both people are applying the same force which is causing an equal an opposite reaction cancelling each other. Hence, they are stuck
