Describe the relationship between the radius of a cation and that of the atom from which it is formed.

    The radius of cation is smaller than its parent atom. This is Because by the loss of electron there may be decrease of no of shells or increase in effective nuclear charge which may decrease the radius of the charge ion. Hence we can say that

    Size: Na + < Na
