What is instantaneous acceleration?

    Instantaneous acceleration is the acceleration at a particular instant. Mathematically, it is the first derivative of velocity, dv/dt.

    Average acceleration, on the other hand, is the acceleration over a period of time. It is the change in velocity divided by the length of time, Δv/Δt.
