A copper wire has a length of 1.50 m and a cross sectional area of 0.380 mm2. If the resistivity of copper is 1.70 ✕ 10-8 Ω · m and a potential difference of 0.700 V is maintained across its length, determine the current in the wire (in A).

    Explanation:

    L = 1.50m

    A = 0.380mm = 3.8E - 7

    Resistivity p = 1.70 E-8

    R = pl/A

    R = 1.70 E-8 * 1.5 / 3.8 E-7

    V = IR

    0.700 = I * 6.71 E-16
