An artist who likes working with sources of light decides to make a modern sculpture out of electrified glass tubes that contain very thin (rarefied) neon gas. When the sculpture is finished, and the electricity is turned on, the tubes glow with a rich red color. What we are seeing is?

    What we are seeing now is an "Emission line spectrum".

    Explanation:

    When an electrified glass tube containing thin neon gas is turned on, the tube will glow with a rich red color which are nothing but the line emission spectrum. Emission spectrum are nothing but the spectrum that contains frequencies of electromagnetic radiations that might get emitted due to the transition of atom from a higher energy state to lower energy state. If the emitted radiation is in the form of light, It is known as light emission spectrum and In the above mentioned sculpture you can see that neon gas is electrified which in turn produces rich red color and hence we can conclude that the obtained spectrum is Emission line spectrum.
