Disadvantages of cell phones through a political lens

Mobile phones can be used to crack down on dissenting voices by a government. Tapping of phone conversations can lead to victimization of protesters who are critical of the government.

Because mobile phones can disseminate information very fast. The opposition, for political gain, can spread undue propaganda against an incumbent and spread like wildfire. This can result in tension and some cause the unjust rallying of people against their government.
