Gold has a density of 19.3g/cm3 iron pyrite commonly known as fools gold because its color has a density of 50.2g/cm3. suppose that you find a golden solid that has a mass of 25.04g and a volume of 4.99cm3. have you found gold or iron pyrite? show your work?

    if the density is more than 19.3 it has iron.

    if it is less then it is not gold.

    d=m/v

    25.04/4.99=5.01g/cm3

    then it is not gold, it is iron pyrite.
