    Given Information:

    Time period = T = 30 minutes

    Diameter of wheel = d = 150 m

    Required Information:

    speed in m/s = ?

    speed in mi/hr = ?

    Answer:

    speed in m/s = 0.262

    speed in mi/hr = 0.586

    Explanation:

    The speed is given by

    speed = distance/time

    distance = 2πr

    therefore,

    v = 2πr/T

    where r is the radius of wheel and T is the time taken to complete one full cycle.

    T = 30*60

    T = 1800 seconds

    r = d/2

    r = 150/2

    r = 75 m

    v = 2π*75/1800

    v = 0.262 m/s

    v = 0.262 m/s * 3600/1609

    v = 0.586 mi/hr
