    Mass = 520.83 kg

    Explanation:

    Newton's second law states

    Force = mass * acceleration

    The force applied must be equal to the weight of the object to lift it ignoring frictional forces and resistances.

    therefore weight = force

    so W = mg where g is the acceleration due to gravity

    therefore 1.25*103 N = m * 7.86 ft / sec square

    But SI unit of g is m/sec square

    1 ft = 0.3048 m

    therefore multiplying 7.86 ft with 0.3048 m = 2.395 = 2.4 m to get the value in meters.

    W = mg

    m = W/g=1.25*10³ / 2.4 = 1250/2.4 = 520.833 kg
