We know the frequency range of certain sounds are: 400-560 Hz, what are the ranges of wavelength in meters when the signal transmits in air? what about in water? (In dry air at 20oC the speed of sound is 343.2 m/s, while in water, the sound travels in 1484 m/s).

    For air;

    Wavelength ranges between = 0.613m to 0.858m

    For water;

    Wavelength ranges between = 2.65m to 3.71m

    Explanation:

    Wavelength = speed of sound/frequency

    For air;

    Speed of sound in air = 343.2m/s

    For frequency interval (400, 560Hz)

    Wavelength 1 = 343.2/400 = 0.858m

    Wavelength 2 = 343.2/560 = 0.613m

    Interval = 0.613m to 0.858m

    For water;

    Speed of sound in air = 1484m/s

    For frequency interval (400, 560Hz)

    Wavelength 1 = 1484/400 = 3.71m

    Wavelength 2 = 1484/560 = 2.65m

    Interval = 2.65m to 3.71m
