    The speed of sound in this gas = 416 m/s

    Explanation:

    The wave produced in a column open at one end, closed at the other has the relation L = λ/4 with the length of the tube.

    The standing wave pattern for the tube closed at one end has a node at the closed end & an antinode at the open end.

    The distance between the node and antinode = wavelength/4 = λ/4

    1.3 = λ/4

    λ = 5.20 m

    For any wave, v = fλ

    v = velocity of the wave = ?

    f = frequency of the wave = 80 Hz

    λ = wavelength of the wave = 5.20 m

    v = 5.2 * 80 = 416 m/s
