Is it better to design a ship with bigger bottom area or design it with smaller bottom area?

    the bigger bottom area is much better

    Explanation:as the area exposed to the water inc the friction force between it and water molecules inc so its stability increases although you might think at the first time that its velocity decreases by increasing of the area of bottom but actually if there is not a huge difference in the bottom area it will not be a huge difference in velocities as the water viscosity is very low so it is better to use bigger bottom area
