    initial speed of raft in right, v = - 16 m/s

    after collision

    using conservation of momentum

    M u + m v = M u' + m v'

    16 x 12.5 + 14 x (-16) = 16 x u' + 14 x 14.4

    16 u' = - 225.6

    u' = - 14.1 m/s
