A wave can be simply defined as a disturbance that can propagate from one place to another and in doing so, it carries energy and is comprised of a definite wavelength and amplitude. These waves can be of high or low energy.

In a wave, there is a direct relationship between the amplitude and the energy as the energy is directly proportional to the double of its amplitude. This means that increasing the amplitude of a wave, the energy increases by double of it. And if the amplitude decreases then the energy abruptly decreases.
