    The neutral object

    Explanation:

There are three methods of charging an object:

    - Friction: the two objects are rubbed against each other, and electrons are transferred from an object to the other

    - Conduction: a charged object is placed in contact with a neutral object, and charge is transferred from the charged object to the neutral one

    - Induction: a charge object is placed closed (but not in contact) to a neutral object; as a result, the charges in the neutral redistribute, such that the charges of same sign of the charged object migrate towards the opposite side, while the charges of opposite sign migrate towards the charged objects. If the object is connected to the ground, the charges that migrate to the opposite side can leave the object, leaving it with a net charge different from zero.

From this last description, we can see that the object which is charged by the process is the neutral object.
