In circuit A, two resistors R1 and R2 are connected in series. In circuit B, two identical resistors are connected in parallel. Both circuits are powered by identical energy sources and include no other resistors. In which circuit, if any, is the current greater across R1?

    In circuit A, the current is greater across R1.

    Explanation:

    When two resistors have connection in series then the voltage drop across them increases but the current remains the same. For two resistors in parallel, the current divides between two resistors, voltage drop remains constant. So for circuit B, the current among R1 and R2 is divided so it is less than original supplied current. But the current along R1 and R2 being same as original supplied current is greater than in resistors of circuit B.
