Another sphere having 100 units of positive charge is when placed close to the left end of the one of the rod A will induce a negative charge on the atoms of the rod nearest to the sphere but the charge cannot be transmitted to the whole bulk material of the rod as it is made up of a nonconducting material. Therefore, there will be no effect on the other end of the rod A and hence on bringing the rod B in contact to the right end of the rod A the rod B will still remain electrically neutral in charge.
