    When a ray of light falls on a highly polished and smooth surface it bounce back into the same medium, this phenomenon is called reflection of light.

    There are two laws of reflection:

    (i) The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.

    (ii) The incident ray, reflected ray and the normal all lie in the same plane.

    These laws are valid for all types of mirrors.
