A horizontal force accelerates a cart of mass 200 kg from 0 to 30 m/s on a horizontal

smooth surface. If the horizontal distance the force acts over is 12 m, what is the

magnitude of the force?

    mass (m) = 200kg

    Initial velocity (u) = 0

    Final velocity (v) = 30m/s

    Distance (d) = 12m

    Acceleration=a

    V^2=u^2+2 x a x d

    30^2=0^2+2 x a x 12

    30x30=0+24a

    900=24a

    Divide both sides by 24

    900/24=24a/24

    37.5=a

    Acceleration=37.5m/s^2

    Force=mass x acceleration

    Force=200 x 37.5

    Force=7500
