Imagine the current in a current-carrying wire is flowing into the screen. What is the direction of the magnetic field around this current?

The magnetic field is clockwise.

    If a current carrying wire is going into the plane then by using right hand rule

    if we put our thumb along the current then curl of fingers will show the direction of magnetic field.

    here if put the thumb of right hand into the plane then magnetic field will be in clockwise direction.

    So The magnetic field is clockwise.
