A 1000 kg car is moving on flat road at a constant speed of 25 m/s. What is the magnitude of average not force, that is required to slowing the car to 12.5 m/s within 22 seconds?

    Mass (m) = 1000kg

    Initial velocity (u) = 25m/s

    Final velocity (v) = 12.5m/s

    Time (t) = 22 seconds

    v=u+axt

    12.5=25+ax22

    collect like terms

    12.5-25=22a

    -12.5=22a

    Divide both sides by 22

    -12.5/22=22a/22

    -0.6=a

    Acceleration=-0.6

    Force=mass x acceleration

    Force=1000 x - 0.6

    Force=-600
