A stone is thrown vertically upwards with an initial velocity of 40 ms-1. Find the maximum height reached by the stone. What is the net displacement and the total distance covered by the stone?

    To find the maximum height we use the expression:

    U²=2gh

    Where u is the initial velocity,

    g is gravitational field strength

    h is the maximum height.

    h=u²/2g

    h=40²/20

    =1600/20

    =80m
