Is a tidal wave a mechanical wave or an electromagnetic wave? And why?

    A tidal wave is an exceptionally large ocean wave, especially one caused by an under water earthquake or volcanic eruption. It's a mechanical wave because it's a sound wave that can move thru water and requires medium in order to exist
