What happens to the speed of a ball as it rises from the ground to a girls Hand?

    As the ball ... or anything else ... rises, gravity is pulling down on it all the way, so its speed keeps getting less and less. If nobody catches it, it'll keep rising until it hasn't got any speed left, and then it'll stop rising and start falling.

    'Velocity' is the ball's speed and direction.

    It has shrinking upward velocity until it reaches its peak height, and growing downward velocity after that.

    The speed stops as it hits the girls hand but speed reduces as it reaches her hand and increases at the beginning of the movement
