An astronaut's weight on earth is 800 N.

What is his weight on Mars, where g=3.76m/s2?

    weight = mg

    W on earth = 800N

    mg = 800 N

    m (9.8 m/s²) = 800N

    dividing 9.8 both sides

    m=800/9.8 (as g=9.8m/s² on earth)

    m=81.63 kg

    Now weight on Mars

    w=mg

    = (81.63kg) * (3.76m/s²)

    w=306N
