5 25

10 50

15 75

20 100

Consider the data collected in science class. Different masses were thrown with varied amounts of force. The data table reflects Newton's 2nd Law of Motion, or F = ma. Based on the data collected, what can we say about the objects acceleration?

A) In all cases, the acceleration was the same.

B) The acceleration decreased as the mass increased.

Based on the table, it would be A) the acceleration was the same.

    Since F=ma, then a=F/m.

From the table, all four values of F/m=5 N/kg.

    25/5=50/10=75/15=100/20=5
