At a distance of 0.182 cm from the center of a charged conducting sphere with radius 0.100cm, the electric field is 465 n/c. what is the electric field 0.598 cm from the center of the sphere?

    By Gauss" Law E = K Q / R^2 where R is measured from the center

    of the sphere. (in this case the field is zero inside the sphere, why?)

    So E2 / E1 = R1^2 / R2^2 with K and Q cancelling

    E2 = E1 * (R1 / R2) ^2 = 465 nc * (.182 /.598) ^2 = 43.1 n/c
