If electrical energy costs 12 cents, or $0.12, per kilowatt-hour, then what would the following events cost? (a) burning a 120 W light bulb for 24 h straight (b) operating an electric oven for 7.0 h if it carries a current of 20.0 A at 220 V

    12cents/36*10^5J*10368000J=34.56 cents

    b) W=VQ.

    W=VIt

    W=220*20*7*3600

    =110880000J

    12cents/36*10^5J*110880000J

    =369.6 cents
