A pilot is flying a small airplane at 40.0 m/s in a circular path with a radius of 200.0 m. The pilot has a mass of 80.5 kg. Find the magnitude of the centripetal forces that maintains the circular motion of the pilot. 16.1 N 644 N 659 N

    To find the centripetal force which maintains the circular path of the pilot we use the formula: F = (mv²) / r

    where F is the centripetal force

    m is the mass of the body moving in a circular path

    v is the velocity of the body

    substituting in the formula we get the following

    F=[80.5kg * (40.0m/s) ²]/200.0m

    =644N
