    The speed of the ball is 9.23m/s

    Explanation:

    Using kinematic equation for the vertical height is given by:

    h = Ut + 1/2 gt^2

    Where h = 36m as given from the question

    g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.81

    Initial velocity, U = 0

    t = time

    Substituting into the equation

    36 = 0 + 1/2 * 9.81 * t^2

    36 = 4.905t^2

    36/4.905 = t^2

    7.34 = t^2

    Sqrt (7.34) = t

    2.71 seconds = t

    Speed = distance / time

    Speed = 25m / 2.71s

    Speed = 9.23m/s
