A 1440 kg car has just passed a diner. The closest the car came to the diner was R = 16.5 m, but the car has driven another x = 36.7 m in the 2.05 s elapsed since then. If the car travels at constant speed, what is the current magnitude L of the angular momentum of the car about the diner?

    Given that,

    Mass of car

    M = 1440kg

    Radius car traveled

    R = 16.5m

    The car travelled 36.7m in 2.05s

    Then, velocity is given as

    Velocity = distance / time

    V = 36.7/2.05

    V = 17.90 m/s

    Angular momentum L?

    Angular momentum can be calculated using

    L = M*R*V

    Where

    M is mass

    R is radius

    C is velocity

    Then,

    L = MRV

    L = 1440 * 16.5 * 17.9

    L = 425,361.95 kgm²/s
