What would you need to do to a wavelength to produce a higher frequency?

    The product of (a wave's frequency) times (the wave's wavelength) is always the same number ... the wave's speed.

    So if it's a higher frequency you want, you'll need to make the wavelength shorter, so that their product doesn't change.
