Rachel is running at 5 m/s when she suddenly gets a cramp and slows down to 1 m/s. if her acceleration was - 50 m/s^2, how long did it take her to slow down?

    d = average v * t average v = (v1 + v2) / 2 = (5+1) / 2 = 3 t = ∆v / a = (1-5) / - 50 = 2/25 sec d = 3 * (2/25) = 6/25 = 0.24 meter = 24 cm
