A force of 83 newtons is applied to a wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm. what is the tensile stress (in n/m2) in the wire? do not include units with the answer.

    Tensile stress = F/a

    F = force = 83 N

    a = area = πr² where r is the radius

    d = diameter = 0.5 mm
