Force required to change velocity = 2.5 kN

    Explanation:

Force required = Mass of box x Acceleration of box

Acceleration of box = Change in velocity of box / Time.

    Mass of box, m = 1000 kg

    Acceleration of box, a = (10 - 5) / 2 = 5/2

    = 2.5 m/s²

    Force required = ma

    = 1000 x 2.5 = 2500 N = 2.5 kN

Force required to change velocity = 2.5 kN
