A 17 kg box sitting on a shelf has a potential energy of 350 J. How high is the shelf? Round your answer to the nearest whole number. The shelf is m high.

    Potential energy is the amount of energy stored in an object due to its elevation. It is calculated as the product of mass, elevation and gravitational acceleration which is 9.8 m/s^2

    PE = mgh

    350 = 17 (9.8) h

    h = 2.10 m high
