What is the difference between scattering and reflection, refraction, transmission and diffraction?

    Scattering is the process in which electromagnetic radiation or particles are deflected or diffused. Reflections is the bouncing of light, heat or sound without absorbing it. Refraction is the bending of wave when it enters a medium where its speed is different. Transmission is the movement of electromagnetic waves through a material. Diffraction is the spreading out of waves as a result of passing through narrow aperture or cross edge.
