Why does a helium balloon rise in the air while an ordinary balloon filled with air does not?

    Helium js lighter and less dense than oxygen so it floats

    Because helium is lighter than air. So, the helium pushes up through the air to get to the top. Which makes it float. Sort of like how oil always sits on the top of water
