The weight of an object is

(its mass) x (acceleration of gravity).

    The weight of a 1 kg object on Earth is (1 kg) x (9.8 m/s²) = 9.8 newtons.

When a force of 9.8 newtons acts for 0.1 second,

the impulse imparted to the unfortunate toe is

    0.98 newton-second = 0.98 kg-m/s
