A car slowing down and coming to a stop. The car is still moving, but it is decelerating rather than accelerating.

When you throw a ball up in the air, it is technically decelerating as it nears it's maximum height. Gravity begins pulling it downward, and the ball comes to a stop at it's max height, then gravity forces it back down to the ground
