Could a mixture be made up of only only elements and no compounds

    you're breathing it!

    Earth's atmosphere is a mixture of nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and tiny

    bits of other gases. Except for the carbon-dioxide and water vapor,

    all the others are elements, not compounds.
