    Force = (mass x acceleration) = 18 x 3, = 54N.

    Newton's 2nd law: Force = (mass) x (acceleration).

    While the cart is accelerating at 3 m/s², you must be pushing it

    with (18 kg) x (3 m/s²) = 54 newtons of force.

    As soon as you stop pushing, it stops accelerating.
