a. For what temperatures will the steel ball no longer fit through the ring?

b. If the ball was made of aluminum and the ring made of steel, how would your answer change?

    Just for b:

    if a is correct and aluminum expands less than iron, then yes, the answer would change. The ring would, without problem, fit through the ring, without problems.
