    then subtract at² from each side

    Divide each side by 2t:

    v = D/t - at/2

    Multiply each side by 2 : 2D = 2vt + at²

    Subtract at² from each side : 2D - at² = 2vt

    Divide each side by 2t : v = (2D - at²) / 2t

    v = D/t - at/2
