    A. Convection in the atmosphere causes the wind to blow. As some parts of earth get more sunlight than others, air above them gets heated up, making it less dense and causing it to rise. As this warm less-dense air rises, it is replaced by colder air from other parts of earth, thus setting up of convection currents for wind to blow.
