    The energy to move our hand comes from stored chemical energy within food, which we consume. When food is consumed, nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats and even proteins are oxidized to release energy which is stored in the form of ATP molecule in cells. When the hand has to move, energy from ATP is used by muscles for contraction and movement of hand to do work on hammer
